Both Reid and Grace are immensely likable and strangely - given the stretch-your-credulity storyline - believable. I didn’t think Reid’s story was quite as good as his friend Knox Callaghan's story in the first book of this series, “All Chained Up.” But if you like this kind of erotic, escapist, romance/adventure fantasy, “Hell Breaks Loose” is well done. (Yes, that’s right, the President’s daughter :-) It’s all pretty far-fetched, but we can bet that (1) Reid will save the day and (2) there will be steamy sex. In fact, when Reid shows up, the gang has just kidnapped the president’s daughter, Grace. Reid finds his drug-addled brother, who is indeed still on the bad side. Reid also wants to reconnect with his younger brother, who he is afraid is now running with the gang.

His obsession now is to take revenge on the drug lord (and worse) who, when the young Reid wised up and tried to leave the gang, framed him for the guard’s murder and made sure the charge stuck. After 11 years in Devil’s Rock penitentiary in West Texas, he’s finally got an escape plan. Reid Alistair is a knight in tarnished armor serving a life sentence for murdering a security guard, a crime of which he’s innocent. Graphic romantic sex scenes, some violence, and a fast-moving story to frame the sex scenes. Yep, it’s hot as hell, but the heat is all between the sheets (since the story takes place in winter).
